About Lofsdalsspår Winter
Maintenance of cross-country ski trails and snowmobile trails around Lofsdalen
Lofsdalsspår is a financial cooperative responsible for both cross-country ski trails and snowmobile trails. Our ambition is to offer our guests the best trails and routes in the mountain world, and we constantly work on maintenance and improvements to keep the trails in the best possible condition. Four people work full-time to give you, as a guest, a fantastic and memorable experience on our trails and routes.
Daily information
Generally, all cross-country ski trails should be groomed by 10:00 AM daily, weather permitting. Our snowmobile trail system is groomed on Monday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, but grooming is also done as needed, depending on weather conditions. Please avoid riding snowmobiles on the trails on the nights we groom them.
Current information about our grooming is updated daily during the winter season. The information is available here on our website or on our Facebook page.
The Cross-Country Ski Trails
Lofsdalen’s ski trails are becoming increasingly well-known among cross-country skiers. And rightfully so. Our cross-country trails are not only well-maintained, snow-reliable, and suitable for all types of skiers — from children and leisure skiers to elite athletes and training camps — but they also offer an exceptionally beautiful trail system with wide views, alpine skiing, and varied trails.
Lofsdalsspår offers cross-country skiers 122 km of groomed trails for both classic skiing and skate skiing, as well as touring trails in highly varied terrain around Lofsdalen. All ski trails, except for Sömlingshågna, are five meters wide, with room for both skate skiing and classic tracks. The cross-country trails are connected to the village of Lofsdalen and the cabin areas on the northern side. Touring trails are available on both the northern and southern sides.
The Snowmobile Trails
Lofsdalen is known for its fun and scenic snowmobile rides. From Lofsdalen, snowmobile trails head north towards Funäsdalen and Hede, and over the lake’s ice, trails lead northwest to Slagavallen and south to Svanhågna, the waffle hut, Sömlingshågna, and the Dalafjällen. Remember that in Lofsdalen, skiers and snowmobilers share the trails. Consideration, awareness, and respect should first and foremost come from snowmobilers, as they can cause harm and are more disruptive.
Trail Hosts
You may encounter a trail host on both the cross-country ski trails and the snowmobile trails, and feel free to stop for a short chat. Share your feedback, both positive and negative experiences, as it’s important to us.
Lofsdalsspår’s Finances

Supporters
Many have faithfully contributed over the years through trail hosting, track laying, providing information at the gas station, helping with events, trail development, board work, leadership, and much more. Lofsdalsspår’s success and Lofsdalen’s fantastic status as a true paradise for snowmobilers and cross-country skiers is thanks to these people. We owe all of them a big thank you. Special and humble recognition goes to all the landowners who have generously given permission for the trails and routes. Last but not least, a big thank you to Lofsdalsspår’s trail hosts for their many shifts on our trails and routes.
Sponsors
Trail maintenance costs a lot of money. We work hard to secure sponsors and maintain a high level of ambition. Sponsors get their logos displayed on this website. If you would like to become a sponsor, contact us, and we can discuss how we can help each other.
