Maintenance of Hiking and Biking Trails in Lofsdalen
Alexander Johansson-
Alexander Johansson-

Lofsdalsspår is a cooperative association responsible for cross-country ski trails, snowmobile trails, hiking trails, and biking trails. Our goal is to offer our guests the best trails and routes in the mountains, and we continually work on maintenance and improvements to keep the trails in top condition. Four full-time staff members are dedicated to providing you with an exceptional and memorable experience on our trails. Alexander Johansson, CEO, oversees the operations.

Hiking Trails

Lofsdalen’s hiking trails wind through mountain forests and across terrain above the alpine tree line, offering varied lengths and levels of difficulty. You can choose trails on either the southern or northern side of the lake, with several options for your day’s adventure! While hiking is free for visitors in the village, maintaining the trails is not free for us. It’s thanks to solid winter revenue, supportive sponsors, and voluntary contributions that hiking is possible here in Lofsdalen! Voluntary contributions can be sent via Swish to 123 339 67 51, marked “Voluntary Hiking Contribution.”

Biking Trails

Lofsdalen offers fantastic biking with trails in the “Lofsdalen Fjällpark MTB,” the “Southern Side of the Lake,” and “Cykelsnurren” (the children’s loops at the lighted trail). The mountain park features machine-built trails in a stunning mountain setting beside Hovärken, with views toward the peaks on the southern side of the lake. On the “Southern Side of the Lake,” you’ll find slightly more challenging trails, both machine-built and hand-crafted, guiding you through the forest up toward the mountains. Take a break for coffee at Våffelstugan. “Cykelsnurren” is the children’s area near the lighted trail, where kids can ride on wide, smooth trails with bumps and jumps. Bring along some sausages to grill!

Trail Hosts

You may encounter a trail host on both the cross-country ski trails and the snowmobile trails, and feel free to stop for a short chat. Share your feedback, both positive and negative experiences, as it’s important to us.

Lofsdalsspår’s Finances

Lofsdalsspår’s financial cooperative operates without a profit motive. Any potential profits are reinvested in the operations. Income is distributed as follows:

  • Sponsorship income from sponsors.
  • Fees from those using the trails and routes.

Supporters

Many have faithfully contributed over the years through trail hosting, track laying, providing information at the gas station, helping with events, trail development, board work, leadership, and much more. Lofsdalsspår’s success and Lofsdalen’s fantastic status as a true paradise for snowmobilers and cross-country skiers is thanks to these people. We owe all of them a big thank you. Special and humble recognition goes to all the landowners who have generously given permission for the trails and routes. Last but not least, a big thank you to Lofsdalsspår’s trail hosts for their many shifts on our trails and routes.

Sponsors

Trail maintenance costs a lot of money. We work hard to secure sponsors and maintain a high level of ambition. Sponsors get their logos displayed on this website. If you would like to become a sponsor, contact us, and we can discuss how we can help each other.
