Lofsdalsspår is responsible for trail preparation and driving the TV snowmobiles for the Lofsdalen Epic Race, held annually at the turn of March and April. The Lofsdalen Epic features two races running concurrently: the Lofsdalen Epic 55 km Classic Style Mass Start and the Lofsdalen Epic 35 km Classic Style Mass Start.
Lofsdalen Epic 55 Course
The Epic 55 starts at an elevation of 800 meters in the heart of Lofsdalen’s Alpine Ski Area, at the Lången Express chairlift drop-off. From there, participants head out onto the terrain above the alpine tree line, following the Upper Strådalsleden Trail to Boktjärn via Renstängslet. They then turn back towards Lofsdalen, following the Lussileden and Lower Strådalsleden Trails through forested terrain, finishing at Restaurant Hovärken.
Epic 35 & Duo Course
The Pilgrimsloppet Epic 35 starts after the Epic 55 and follows the same route up to Lussikåtan, where it then turns back towards Lofsdalen. This course does not include the additional loop on the Petterssonspåret Trail that the longer distance covers.
